Bye Bye Kagi
I guess sometimes we get a little stuck in our ways and don't tend to things we mean to until there's
some action that pushes us to do so.
I'd been meaning to remove Kagi.com as an option for paying for Full Membership for a while. They were a
service I started using in 2002 as I'd run across their services with shareware and mac software. They seemed
reasonable and at the time, their relatively fixed and inflexible product set-up wasn't an issue because I
only had one product that I offered.
But over time, with new membership options as well as advertising, my needs changed. I kept Kagi.com because
some people still chose to use it. I think mostly it had to do with people's perception that you had to have
a PayPal account to pay with PayPal. And maybe there will still be some who won't use it, but I think the
numbers of people that will be turned away by removing Kagi.com as a payment option will be minimal.
But regardless, they started charging new fees and they were still roughly the same inflexible system and
UI as they were 4 years ago and I guess I choose not to support that kind of thing.
