Behind The Firm List Blog
Search Engine Performance
Every so often I like to go digging into stats, traffic logs, etc. There are all sorts of things you can find when you're
looking. I used to write executive-level traffic/site summaries for the previous clients. The reports that had done
prior to my taking them on were pretty vague and cloudy even for a professional. They didn't really give you much to go
on other than X hits last month, X hits this month. No sense for why certain numbers went up, why some went down. When
is it good for numbers to change and how can we continue to see those changes. And so on and so on.
With The Firm List, it's both harder and easier. It's harder because this site is much more immense than any client site
I've worked on (and I've worked on some fairly large client sites). It's also easier as I don't have to try and convince
myself that there's an issue when the clues point to it and I can also immediately take action.
Well, I figured while looking through my access logs I'd just list a bunch of observations I found. Random statistics, data,
etc. Just a small sampling.
