Behind The Firm List Blog
More 2003 Numbers
I still remember when the precursor to The Firm List had just a few hundred hits a month
(most probably by me) and was housed as a sub directory on another one of my domains.
Now, it's a site with an amazing amount of traffic, at least when you consider it's
all from word of mouth and search engines. I don't have the money to advertise and
I'm not really good with PR.
With the numbers from December 2003, June 2003 and December 2002, I extrapolated that
to get some numbers for all of 2003. They are an estimate, but probably pretty close
to on target.
The Firm List traffic summary for 2003
Hits: 25,458,914
Page Views: 2,326,201
25 million hits! 2.3 million page views! Wow. I am still stunned. There's certainly
some give and take on those numbers, due to how the server stats are, etc. But those
numbers are a long ways from the day when the traffic could pretty much all be traced
back to myself. Even with the countless hours I've worked on this site, there's no
way I viewed 2 million pages myself.
Oy! And if you want to know roughly where that puts my site in terms of the millions
of sites out there in regards to traffic, Alexa has me pegged today at:
84,990.
That means there are only 83,989 sites on the web with more traffic. Heck, I have
a higher traffic rating than Denny's
and how many restaurants and advertising do they have?!
So am I supposed to make a prediction of what the traffic numbers will be this time
next year? How about 32 million hits and 3 million page views. We'll see. Stay tuned!
