Behind The Firm List Blog
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark
No, nothing really smells. But I have had a little too much of it tonight...
In the continued efforts to expand and enhance this site, I have spread the coverage not only to include firms in specific countries,
but also in the territories/dependents of countries. A vestage of the days of empires, many countries still own/protect/whatever
certain regions. I have tackled that in various ways over the lifespan of this site. It was easy enough to break US and UK
territories off into The Firm List US and Firm List UK sites. These sub-sites were a matter of helping to deal with a large
number of listings and a chance to break them down into easier, more logical chunks.
Believe it or not, there was a day when all of a country's listings were on one page. Heck, there was even a day when all the
listings worldwide were on one page, but alas, the site was VERY small then. As the site grows, I've needed to get more and
more granular. Some day I might need to break things down by internal divisions like counties, etc.
But there are other countries that have these territories besides the obvious (and large) US and UK. I've been trying to figure
out how to deal with them. Until this time, it was an academic matter, as I didn't have any listings for any of those. But
tonight I needed to add some listings for the Faroe Islands and Greenland, both territories of Denmark.
So now you will find that there's a new sub-site, The Firm List Denmark and that's
where you'll be able to find firm listings for Denmark, Faroe Islands and Greenland.
We'll see if it makes sense. I might further break down the Denmark listings by county. We'll see. I've been considering it for
the UK as well.
As always, if you have feedback or thoughts on this, let me know.
