Behind The Firm List Blog
Immobile
The biggest problem when things pile up on this site is that I can get immobilized by how much there is to do... I don't know where to start or who should be done first. Some projects are larger than others and I am often hesitant to start larger projects as I know I will unlikely have the time to finish them in one or two sittings and then they'll go unfinished for quite a while.

It's not that I've given up on this site, it's just that it's taking much more time & energy that I have to give it right now. Will I ever have the time & energy again for it? I'm not sure. I hope. Though a lot of it will rely on whether it makes sense financially...

And I have a lot of other projects that I'd love to have time to work on. I found myself in this situation once before, when an earlier site, The New Baby Name Index was taking up too much of my time and I couldn't find time to work on other projects that were of more interest to me. I went for a couple years without doing much to update it, then I went ahead and shut it down (it's been recently put back online though completely uninteractive & frozen in time).

While I don't think I would ever shut down The Firm List, I am tempted sometimes to just let it sit stagnant... How else will I be able to work on other things?

Does anyone else have any experiences like this with their own web projects? I would love to hear about it. Email me at: matte@firmlist.com.
