Behind The Firm List Blog
Accusations
I just got an anonymous feedback submission which was full of some rather bitterly presented
information about a firm I just Spotlighted. Why someone took the time to send such a negative email, I am not sure. In
addition to making various statements/accusations about the firm, they added language implying I didn't know what I was doing
and had been hoodwinked.
The information they passed along, whether it's validity, I think was just a little irrelevant. The issue of what consitutes
a "firm" was raised. If a web design firm a company with a staff, office space, etc.? How many of the 10,000 "firms" on the
The Firm List are not sole-proprietors? How many web design firms don't operate out of someone's house?
I'll admit there's a lot I don't know about firms on this site. It's impossible for me to know & verify ever piece of information
about 10,000 firms. Furthermore, it's not my place to. The world of business is a buyer beware environment. You have to
gather as much information as you can and make your own decision. Not every "firm" is right for every client. The listings,
profiles and even Spotlights on The Firm List are meant to be an additional piece of information to help aid one's decisions.
I've known the person I did the Spotlight with for quite a while online now. I know that it's not a large firm and I don't
believe the Spotlight presented any claims to the sort.
If this firm or any other firm has presented unclear, false or misleading information, I ask that they be as honest as possible
and make whatever corrections are necessary. But I am not Big Brother. Be your own best judge and take everything with a
grain of salt.
And if you want to send me information, point out some error I've made or give me feedback, please include your name & email
so that I can properly defend myself and respond.
