Traffic (not the movie)
People occasionally ask me about the traffic figures for The Firm List. As with most things,
I am pretty open and honest about such details. I'm not ashamed about anything having to do with this site. I believe that
what I have done all by myself is quite impressive, and the traffic numbers are no exception. They are even better when you
realize I've done no paid advertising (until today when I paid for a text ad on metafilter.com, we'll see how that goes) or
marketing/promotion. It's all be word of mouth.
If you've been following this journal for a while, you might have seen previous reports on traffic for the site(s), changes
in the numbers reflect increases in web traffic, reorganization of the site (including new sub-domains) as well as shifting
more and more of the image requests to a separate sub-domain, removing many of the hits from other sites to the
images.firmlist.com sub-domain (which, btw has seen 973,507 hits in this same time period).
