Behind The Firm List Blog
Birthdays
Well, it was just the 4th birthday of The Firm List a little while back and today it's my birthday.
No, I am not 4 years old as well. I turn 28 today.
Sometimes I find myself thinking that I've done quite a lot for a 28 year old, but then other times I think of how much more I could
have done by now. No, I don't mean that I could have been a millionaire by now, but rather that I could have built so many more
websites, etc.
I often wonder how much different my junior high and high school years would have been had the web been about. I struggled through
a lot of that time trying to find a creative outlet for my ideas, one that not only allowed me to express my thoughts/ideas but to
also find a receptive audience. I've had that ever since I started building websites in 1994, but if I had had the opportunity when
I was in junior high and high school, it would have saved me a lot of boredom and frustration.
Still, I did a lot of things during that period. I have hundreds of poems and stories I wrote, most of which I still have. I also
wrote more than 1,000 pages of letters to various friends & girlfriends... much of which I don't have.
I am a packrat. I'm trying to be more of a digital one. I have most of my emails going back to when I first got online in 1992. I
have binders of ideas that I've just never had the time to complete.
So at times, I look at this site with 9,500+ firm listings and more than 10,000 pages and I only see what I haven't yet gotten to.
It's all a matter of perspective.
