The Aging Power of The Firm List
Step right up folks and behold the amazing... no, revolutionary aging powers of The Firm List.
I say to you, where else can you see firms aging right in front of your eyes? Where else can a firm that one day says they
were founded in 2000 suddenly claim they were founded in 1999? Are we seeing web professionals traveling back in time to
start their firms a little earlier? Have we seen an overwhelming case of forgetfulness and now these professionals are coming
to their senses? Or are these firms just feeling young, wanting to be old enough to drive, buy a beer, and get into the R-rated
movies?
But seriously, this has been a trend that I've seen for at least the last year. When firms update their info, they seem to
drop a year off their founding date in the process. Not all firms are doing this, but enough to make it noticeable to me.
What's the motivating factor? Does a firm founded in 1999 have more clout than one founded in 2000?
And how come The Firm List doesn't have a rejuvenating effect?
